I am a painter generally specialising in paintings of animals and pets but also, occasionally, tackling other subjects.
I studied Fine Art as a student and have consistently used those skills in different ways, in my working life, from murals and paint effects to illustration and design.
I want my paintings/drawings to have a reality about them and capture something of the subject I am painting, but to remain paintings too, so although I work from photographs, I do not produce photo-realistic pieces. Brush marks, sketches, occasional drips etc.. are all in evidence.
My paintings were predominantly in oil paint but due to costs rising and income diminishing, oil work is being overtaken by watercolours/drawings and most are now watercolours or charcoal drawings.
